Green Smoothie for Pregnancy and labor
Nutritious and delicious!
As a labor doula, I am often asked for suggestions on what is good to eat and drink in pregnancy and birth. My go to suggestion is my famous green smoothie. It is a great source of nutrients and tastes pretty dang delicious to boot. It is super simple to make and can be ready before you can jump in your car and drive to your favorite juice bar. Lets get started!
Green Smoothie Recipe
First you will need:
1 Ripe frozen banana ( I let mine ripen and freeze them peeled in a quart bag for easy access)
A hand full of fresh baby spinach or spinach/kale mix
a cup of almond milk ( you choose the variety)
a dime sized piece of fresh ginger(my secret ingredient-well not anymore!)
Simply put all ingredients into a blender for about 30 seconds and watch all that green goodness converge into a creamy and dreamy delight.
